Enrolment Policy

Guardian Angels’ National School is a Roman Catholic School under the Patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin.

Applications for Junior Infants:

Applications for new pupils in Junior Infants will be accepted in September and October of the year preceding the child’s expected entry to the school. Application forms may be found on the school website www.guardianangels.ie or direct from the school. Acceptance of an application does not constitute an offer of a place. Places will be allocated in the following order:

  1. Siblings of pupils currently enrolled in Guardian Angels’ N.S.

  1. Catholic children living within the Parish of the Guardian Angels, Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

  1. Catholic children who live outside the parish but who do not have a Catholic school in their parish.

  1. All children who live within the parish boundaries but are not Catholic if there are vacancies after the above groups are allocated places.

  1. Any other applicant residing outside the Parish of Guardian Angels.

In order to accommodate groups (1) and (2), a cut off age may have to be operated. This will be announced before the end of November every year. Children who have not received a place in the first round of offers will be put on a waiting list in case of cancellations.

Applications for Senior Infants to Sixth Classes

Children will be accepted into other classes in the school on the basis that there is space in the particular class. If a place is not available they will be placed on a waiting list and the parents/guardians will be informed if a vacancy arises.

Pupils transferring during the school year

Pupils may transfer during the school year provided there is a space in the appropriate class.
